All good! Nothing really grabs me. Don't really like his voice for whatever reason. Idk. Just does nothing for me. I've tried to like them but just dont
ah, yeah, that's fair. He's got a pretty strange/unique voice. Plus, it's not like there is a shortage of people trying to emulate them with different vocals hah. If you ever feel like trying again, maybe you'd like their "proggier" more guitar focused stuff, less vocals in comparison to something like There's Nothing Wrong With Love, for example
Yeah, that's my go to for recommendations generally, super great pop sensibilities and super accessible and well written, but if they don't like the vocals...idk what to do then besides point towards the guitar heroics
same, but it's still a valid response to a voice that is admittedly kind of weird (not so much anymore, but at the time, kind of imo). Thankfully, all that emo music has desensitized me to not great or grating vocals in service of emotion -- shout out to Old Gray, Cap'n Jazz, and The Promise Ring in particular for the crash course in weird vocals, hah.
Seacaucus was '96 though, and with 2/3 of their albums being from the 90s, no reason they shouldn't be talked about. If you started in the 90s at least, you should be good, otherwise a band like Modest Mouse would be gone since most of their output is technically post 90s
Has anyone even mentioned Dinosaur Jr. or Superchunk yet? Sonic Youth qualifies, right? You could argue they are a noise rock band.
