any time I play special attention to janet weiss' drum work I am in awe. one of very few bands who are better off for not having a bass player too

My wife’s cousins saw them/Weezer, and brought them up. Realized I’ve always loved Where Is My Mind?, and Debaser. Tho never explored their albums.

great songs both, I feel like the cool thing about the Pixies is that their gateway songs are fairly representative of what you'll get but what you get still ends up being really rewarding and fun to listen to. you should keep updating with thoughts on their discog, I feel like I never hear people talk about the last two records much in particular.

these are good songs I love a lot and I feel like I never get to gush about the pixies

i just revisited that one last night, it's a great record and weirdly moody for them in places. not my favorite but I don't think pavement ever got to do a bad record

listening to terror twilight again this morning and I think my favorite part about it is the killer solos lol. You Are A Light and Cream of Gold both rule so much

    Malkmus’s solos are incredible

I was surprised to hear the solos almost identically played on the demo versions of Wowee Zowee

his guitar work w the Jicks is incredible on a lot of songs

never did check out the demos for anything other than Slanted and Enchanted, but they've got crazy good b sides in that era. I should do that w the wowee zowee era onward. particularly interested in hearing that longer version of The Hexx people talk about a lot

oh that was cool, definitely worth the wait. nothing feels out of place or odd about it but what sticks out is how it feels more "classically" pavement with the sprawling parts, like Fillmore Jive's dark side or smth

    it’s a brooding, moody song & I love it

band sounds massive here (that guitar tone!) & it is one of those songs that mix the jangly Pavement with the moody Pavement & it’s great for it

it has that I’m chill but not really vibe that is so unique to them & that makes them unparalleled
