Neutral Milk Hotel’s “Holland, 1945”, is so deeply moving to me whenever there is a tragedy in this country like the one in Florida yesterday. Especially the last couplet.
listened to the run from On the Mouth to Indoor Living yesterday in sequence On the Mouth is great and has Swallow That which is one of my favorite songs, but it's incredible how much of a step up Foolish/Strings are. Really cool to see them get a little more expansive and slow down a bit. Then there's Indoor Living which is undoubtedly their masterpiece. So many of these songs could be on a record from a band I like today.
listened to Pod and Last Splash for the first time, I now like The Breeders I'm trying to get educated on all the music I missed in a weirdly sheltered upbringing so I'm doing deep dives into a lot of band discogs I'm either unfamiliar with or need to fill in some gaps and listening to all their records in order, expect me to be spamming this thread
about once a year i come to the conclusion Hefner's Breaking God's Heart is one of the best albums of the 90's. Such an overlooked gem of an album
anyone listen to the Apples in Stereo? they've got an intimidating discog and I've heard some songs but that's my big E6 blindspot so was wondering what a fan recommends to get into them properly
Happy 25th bday to maybe the best album of the 90s The Infinite Radness of Pavement’s Breakthrough Album
it's crazy how sleater-kinney is just the best huh? how does Carrie brownstein just get better at riffs over time?
