Looking at Pitchfork list - a lot I was not aware of, but then see Cocteau Twins (I was a big 4AD fan), Shoegazers (Spaceman 3 et al...), Pixies, GBV, Weezer, and some others I remember from my college days.... Nice list.
Classic Drag City Albums by Pavement, Silver Jews, Bonnie “Prince” Billy and More Now Streaming on Apple Music guess so
I don't even know if I could pick a favorite Pavement record. But it's def between Slanted, CRCR and WZ
I take back everything I said about it over the past five years. Stephen Malkmus is becoming a top 3 songwriter for me
Paul Simon for sure. Let me take a minute and formulate something more official bc I love thinking about this shit, haha
I saw drive like jehu at wrecking ball being only tangentially familiar with their set. Them and Quicksand were extremely impressive live acts, and Jehu in particular blew me the fuck away. I'd love to hear what you like about each of them too!
Do people outside Massachusetts know about Belly, Throwing Muses, and the Breeders? I figure some might, but they are more Mass based than anything, right?
Ive never been to MA, but just wanna say the Breeders have an untouchable discography, at their worst they're still better than the Pixies (a band I love) and if life was just they'd be just as influential My hot take for today
