Three Billboards sucks. Frances McDormand doesn’t. Sally Hawkins, Kristen Stewart, Rooney Mara, Saorise Ronan, and Cynthia Nixon were my favorite performances by lead actresses so far this year (I still have much to catch up on, though)

Three Billboards is so, so much worse than the other nominees. How you pick the only legit bad movie you nominated in the category

 

I really enjoyed Three Billboards (though indifferent on the ending) but really surprised winning best drama

I actually really like Martin McDonagh but Three Billboards is so misguided

 

Again, this means nothing. Just go watch a movie. Brawl In Cell Block 99 just got added to amazon Prime watch that.

 

Not necessarily, the Globes are decided by journalists, none of them have anything to do with the Academy. Now, if it starts sweeping the Guild awards, then there might be a trend building.

 

Yeah, In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths are both very good.

Still reiterate that the Globes is a joke of roughly 90 voting members, compared to 3000 Academy voters. It’s just a fun party to kick off awards season. Remember Avatar won Best Drama nine years ago.

 

I mostly watch the Globes just to see if anyone I care about wins. But yeah, they're basically a glorified press EOTY list.
