Maybe if everyone wasn't always saying "It's crazy and risky and insane to take a chance on a modern original musical" then people would stop believing it and more would get made? Just a thought.

I like La La Land a lot but I can't help but roll my eyes at them talking about how brave and risky it was to make a musical about white people given the climate for black filmmakers. Not taking anything away from the quality of La La Land as a movie, just the "brave" narrarive
I just can't believe the guy whose last movie everyone liked got the movie made with two of the biggest stars in Hollywood. Such the plucky underdog story.
