I hate that the criticism of La La Land that will intensify in the coming awards season will be defined as "backlash" and dismissed rather than just "It's just nowhere near as good as Moonlight or Manchester by the Sea (or Certain Women but that's not getting any awards buzz) and it kind of sucks to watch it beat better movies over and over again"
When you remember that if Manchester By The Sea somehow pulls off a deserved upset and wins Best Picture this year, Matt Damon gets another Oscar as producer.
