1. Absolute Bloom 2. Count The Miles 3. All The Rage 4. Better 5. Two Doors Down 6. Lunar Tuesday 7. Kaleidoscope 8. Wide Awake 9. My Sweet Surrender
Leak says this is out Friday so I’m running with it, but I can’t verify that so I guess we’ll wait and see
Well at least Stillpoint isn’t on there - that track is terrible as hell (mostly due to the awful production) lol
Also; if this is really going to be dropped in 2 days with no promo leading to it.. that’s kind of sad IMO. These guys had some serious momentum building, took way too damn long to make a follow up and left(?) Roadrunner, and the direction they’ve taken so far on this newer material is lackluster. Now they’re just going to release their new record without any hype surrounding it? I know I’m being negative but damn.. that’s a bummer.
Higher Power They're on Nuclear Blast now apparently. Edit: I guess that part might be old news, but they have up a bio reflecting the album.
Their whole career has been so inconsistent and almost negligently mysterious. Hopefully this will help them gain some traction, but I can’t imagine them being big enough to benefit from a surprise drop like this. I’ll check it out regardless!
Just finished my first listen. Some cool tracks here and there but its still underwhelming tbh. They definitely meant to make a 10 song record but Stillpoint was such a stinker they completely removed it. Luckily nothing on here as bad as that.
I’m honestly kinda frustrated with this band. I ADORED their single Fall From Grace that appeared out of nowhere. Then they went completely silent. Then they dropped their two latest singles and kinda went silent. Now we’re on the eve of a surprise full length release that has 9 songs (not even including one of their recent singles) and I’m not sure if I even like the mix from what I heard off YouTube. This band sorely needs a manager AND a producer in my opinion. There are some really good songs on here! Then there’s one or two so far that largely do nothing for me. Looking forward to giving it more spins to see how it all lands with me.
Six out of nine songs are just okay when you ignore that these are supposedly the strongest tracks out of 40 demos in six years (oof). However; they reaaaaally needed a proper producer on this. This sounds like a bunch of demos to me and the absense of Gil Norton is felt big time. Having someone of his caliber would’ve greatly improved this record and helped steer the band in the better direction or at least someone to tell Alex that he doesn’t have the voice to belt like he attempts to here lol Such a disappointment after waiting all these years.
Tough crowd in here. Yeesh. I thought the record was good for what it's doing. Still in the Underwater world, but branches out from it. Can at least agree on the rollout, or lack thereof.
I think this is pretty good. Doesn’t teach the highs of 27 Miles or Soul Structure for me, but overall a decent record. They definitely need a producer though
The more I listen to this - the more I dislike it. These are demos. The singing with the female vocals on the chorus of “Better” makes me cringe cause 1) it doesn’t sound good and 2) it sounds off key lmao Goddamn, talk about a..
Maybe in a few years the band will come back with something stronger but I’m tapping out. Sorry for being overly negative but this record sounds terrible to me and I’ve been a big time fan til now lol
ngl I think they just needed some one to help them dial things in better with the vocals. Lots of weird choices all over this. The run of All The Rage through Two Doors Down has lots of weird choices that are pretty off putting. Jimmy unfortunately is not a great singer outside of his standard yelling, which I do think he still pulls off really well most of the time.
Louis doing vocals is cool but this song is kind of forgettable just like the entire record ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Flop.
