The last album either did not stick with me at all or never really landed to begin with. Whatever the case, still optimistic about their future. Single feels like a step in the right direction
This single is just okay? Nothing really impressive aside some fun drums IMO. According to the credits, Nick actually played drums on this and Hunter did double duty with bass. Nice.
It took me a while but I really do love most of the record now. It’s only the title track and Pages that I skip whenever I listen to it. Maybe it’ll eventually land with you but it’s definitely their weaker release for sure.
I love these guys. New song out now. I’m digging the vibe! was honestly thinking there was going to be some big drummer reveal in the video, but nah. Haha
Solid album. The thrashy/hard-rock element that poked in last time is gone in favor of more streamlined hooky pop-rock songs, which they happen to be really good at.
Sounds like a good direction to me. I appreciated the old school punk vibes on the last album but these guys are at their best with the pop element.
Album doesn’t really do much for me outside of the singles.. damn. Maybe this will click months down the road but this is just pretty forgettable on first listen.
This whole album screams Guided By Voices and I’m so here for it. 10 songs, 30 minutes, indie rock/power pop, easy listening… I reallllly enjoy the production and guitar work on this album. Very happy to have these guys back.
Excited to listen to this. Loved the singles. But I won't be able to listen to anything besides the new TSL for a bit haha
