The Sound Of A Blooming Flower I never really got that into the last two albums, but Cerulean and Obsidian have always had a big place in my heart and the singles from this one have been great.
Closer on here is in the running for the best track he's ever done. Really good album. Up there with the first two, for sure.
I loved his other project Geotic’s last four albums (not counting the Netflix series’ OST’s). Wasn’t as huge on Romaplasm but I haven’t really been disappointed by him yet
listening now. first track on this is super cool. really dig that outro. he seems to have switched it up on this thing. I've never been too into his vocals though--they're VERY idiosyncratic--and they're at the forefront here.
the whole thing is astounding but that closer just wrecked me album to beat this year and it’s not remotely close
Cerulean and Obsidian are staples. also really love the first Pop Music/False B-Sides album. highly rec you go back and check those out too!
Just got my tickets, haven’t seen Will since it was just him and an MPC at Pitchfork in 2011. Hoping this is a full band thing!
yeah every day is unpredictable with a toddler so I got held up the last few days finishing edits and didn't want to rush it. I'm also finishing up an Anxious interview too haha
Excited to read both of those but especially this one because this album feels like such a perfect culmination of his work thus far. Could end up being my favorite Baths record tbh.
I need to listen again. Only got halfway through before I was interrupted by work stuff but I was enjoying it. I think I just largely prefer his instrumental stuff
Finally had a chance to listen to this all the way through. Weird first impressions tbh. Not gonna lie this might be my least favorite vocal performance he’s ever done, which is too bad bc it’s definitely his most vocal-driven album. I like his spoken-word and shouty bits but his singing is somewhat of a chore to sit through. A shame because I love the instrumentation and would honestly take anyone else’s vocals over his (or none at all)
