Okay so it’s a double album, with features/cowrites from people on the album cover. Let’s see how this turns out, interested to hear the songs dropping today.
e-mail newsletter said, "Two new songs, "Make It Make Sense" and "LeBron," are out today at 3pm ET on all streaming services."
i can't help but feel like this release strategy is a little crazy. it's one way to draw interest at least.
I haven’t enjoyed an album from this band since Common Courtesy which was 12 years ago. I’ll listen to it on Spotify but no way I’d buy a physical copy after their last couple albums.
Seems like a misguided way to boost physical sales… the whole album will leak today/tomorrow and be on YouTube not too long after lol
Not thrilled personally with the concept of an ADTR album heavily co-written by seemingly everyone else in the industry. Makes sense why they would try to cash in on sudden hype instead of a traditional rollout and hope for increased physical sales when delaying the streams. I'm interested to see how it pans out.
ADTR and Warner Music Group have sent out the vinyls + record players to people/influencers online already.
Not to discount the very real reasons to not listen to this band anymore, cowrites are probably the only thing that would make me interested in them again. On their own they lost the plot after Bad Vibrations, so if someone can channel what made them good in the first place (basically being an extremely catchy metalcore band with a penchant for pop punk choruses) I'd be more apt to listen to that than whatever they've been doing for the last decade.
new songs are ass, as expected. lebron is a generic pop number, make it make sense is a generic octanecore number.
You’re Welcome was mostly co-written and it stinks pretty bad so no surprise here with cowriters. Standard alternative pop and a Wage War b side. Sick.
I don't want to support them anymore but i will give it a spin once it leaks to just get it out of the way. Very low expectations but i am morbidly curious what this band I once loved is up to
Lebron has to be one of the worst songs they've ever put out. These guys need to get Tom Denney back to write, not sure why that's so hard unless he's just done with them
