I just finished listening to this and I think it's great. It's got a really cool sound and the only weak part of the whole album was the Bladee feature.
I don't think it's as good as Galore, but that would be hard as that's god tier. Still a good record either way, and still the Oklou sound that keeps my coming back.
this has been the only album i've wanted to listen to for the past week. a spiritual successor to some of the more stripped down stuff on ag cook's 7g/apple. pc music without the maximalism. the polar opposite of a big pop album, but still ticks every single box i want from one
finally unlocked this one today. it’s so wispy, you have to be in a really specific mood. entirely earns the lowercase framing of the song titles. “friends and family” is a standout.
Also decided to finally check this out for the first time, I really like it. Such a nice mood album. And I agree that the only part I didn't really care for was the bladee feature lol
I just listened to this for the first time and love it. I love how restrained it is. It feels like at any moment there could be a drop but it never comes. It’s just what I’m needing right now.
I figured out why. You put me on to that Vagabon album from two years ago and I hear some similarities in this.
Her Tiny Desk from last month is fantastic. Beautiful arrangements and they've elevated my appreciation for her songwriting
