Also Doja Cat not getting a best Pop Album nomination is odd. That's one of my favorite albums this year.

The nominations window is from August 31, 2024-August 30, 2025 so it seems like she will be eligible for the 2027 awards.

Cool to see Turnstile snag 5 nominations and Hayley getting 4. But criminally low amount of nominations for FKA Twigs, Spiritbox and Deftones.
I was also hoping we'd see Scowl, Lights and Momma get their first nominations.

Also really was expecting them to include Turnstile or Hayley in the AOTY category as the left field choice. Oh well.

 

Just realized Lorde got 0 nominations. Same with Lucy Dacus. Both had pretty big albums out this year. Interesting.

 

Swag being an AOTY nom is laughable when even people who really like that album say they would cut like half the tracks from it lol

 

Had Beabadoobee pinned for the “hilariously out of touch Best New Artist nom” and lost that bet. The Marias are a fitting replacement

 

Happy for Turnstile getting nominated but I am curious.. even though Meg Mills became fully fledged official member of the band after the recording of the album Never Enough.. will she still be a Grammy nominee or just be the other members and people who worked on the record instead?

 

Happy about the Hayley noms and Chappell getting some love for The Subway.

 

Most of these nominations highlight what a blah, indistinct year it was in mainstream pop music. There are like five albums from last year’s AOTY category that would win in a walk if they’d come out this year.
