“When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it”
Had to make a thread for this just so I can talk about it. It absolutely went so hard and was everything I could hope for a reverse engineered slasher in 2024
Copy and pasting my post from the horror thread: Loved In a Violent Nature. Don't think it's going to work for everyone but man, it was awesome. Great kills, one of them being one of the most creative kills in a slasher that I've ever seen. Thought they executed the concept well and I looooved the cinematography But yeah, I'm so happy this turned out to be so fucking good lol. It's even a bit funny at times.
I do agree that it will not be for everyone. It’s pretty slow burn at times and very methodical, almost to a very basic level but it works really well when you consider what it’s doing
Not sure if this question needs a spoiler or not. Since it’s from the killers perspective, is there any actual jump scares?
I truly do not want to overhype or oversell but if you in any way are a fan of slashers - particularly F13 with all of its lore, I don't see how this doesn't work for you at least on some critical level. But again, this is definitely not a movie for everyone and I can see unsuspecting folks walking into this and being confused/let down.
I fucking loved this. I don’t think it’s gonna be everyone’s cup of tea but this checked all the boxes for me. It also features a fucking Mortal Kombat fatality. What’s not to love?
I think so. How do you feel about slashers in general? Can you appreciate slow burns with good payoffs?
Curious about the budget on this thing. Can't have been much and mostly all of it probably went into the effects.
nice. checks all the boxes for me. it hasn’t been overhyped either btw. sure you both know I’ve been looking forward to it. probably my most anticipated
They definitely credited a visual effects team in the credits. Might have just been for that weird mirror scene.
Really enjoyed it. Does exactly what it says on the box. A guy and his girlfriend walked out 20 minutes in and he yelled out “This movie fucking sucks!!” as he left. We all laughed.
