Looking forward to this. I don't think I would have pegged it as a Lord/Miller project while reading the book, but I'm curious what they do with it. Big book spoiler: I really hope they market this movie without ever mentioning the alien.
I read the book recently and yes, that spoiler above was the best WTF about this book. I hope they do it justice and don't show much of anything in the trailers. Loved the book. I'm excited for this. Hopefully it's amaze amaze amaze!
Really loved the book, very curious how they'll pull it off. and yeah, they need to keep that aspect of it secret. reading the book without knowing some of that made it so much better nevermind, I read the article and they just spoil it right there. very dumb
Crazy to think Lord & Miller haven't officially directed a movie in a decade now (getting fired off Solo and ghost directing/harassing animators on the Spider-Verse movies aside)
meh about who is directing, but always down for Gosling. Should finally read the book. got it back when it published but then just added it to my insane book pile.
Completely forgot that this was being turned into a movie, really enjoyed the book like everyone else has said in here. Interested to see how they pull this off, the screenplay is done by the same guy who adapted The Martian which I felt was a really solid book to movie adaptation. Feel like Project is a little bit more grandiose yet even more intimate than The Martian if that makes any sense.
The more I think about it Miller/Lord work for this project as there is a fair amount of humor in the writing that I feel they would do a good balance with. But 1000% they have to keep the main plot twist out of any part of the promo. I think it would fully ruin the experience of the plot.
