same, i'm just not putting money on it. i did find most of MTBMB to be anywhere from pretty good to really good, however, so that's something?
Em was such a big part of my childhood/early teens that I'll always have a soft spot and root for him
Imagine if he actually ended his career with When I'm Gone, he would have been given some elite legendary status today.
MTBMB was fantastic and I was also a fan of Kamikaze. You can argue that EM has better albums in his discography but personally, his skills and lyricism are unmatched these days. I'm excited for what's to come!
My thing with Eminem's career since 2002 - he undeniably has some of the best lyrical skills but I think his choice for beats is usually really wack. He can rap the dictionary all he wants but it doesnt necessarily make a song that sounds good. Anyway, I'm hoping that if this is him announcing the end of his career with one final album - he goes out with a bang
That's what i'm hoping. Haven't enjoyed anything he's done since probably The Eminem Show and even that i've forgotten most of.
Last one I really loved was Recovery. Came out the summer going into my sophomore year of high school. Played the absolute hell out of it. Ever since, it's a few songs per album worth going back to. Would be cool if this was great!
Yea I will admit end of high school - Relapse and Recovery were big for me. Havent revisited them at all though in a decade
I used to hate Relapse and love Recovery, now I quite like Relapse and would never listen to Recovery. Relapse is the last album I would say I like. The Eminem Show is the last one I love.
Junior High listening to The Marshall Mathers LP on family road trips on my discman thinking I was so gangsta.
that was the most awkward and emotionless interaction i've ever seen between two people. there's no way they were actually on facetime.
His beat choices back in the MMLP and SSLP were great because it was basically Mel-Man, Dre and Bass Brothers. It was when he started doing his own production that it’s like “Oh, I guess he really only likes bland, mid-tempo beats with piano.”
i always listen to his first few albums when summer time hits but im not expecting this album to be good
i just listened to recovery for the fuck of it since i loved it when it came out and yeah it has aged particularly poorly
