Like I’m sorry but you can’t convince me that Taylor’s omnipresence the past year and the fourth AOTY narrative did not influence the voters in awarding her…which is what it is but then it feels like a popularity award. I mean maybe the voters liked it more than the others but idk. I have conflicted feelings haha.
Had to look it up. The last time they got it right was, like, “Random Access Memories”? I forgot Mumford and Sons beat Frank Ocean. Good lord.
People are saying this award is the Grammys way of celebrating Taylor’s big year but that shouldn’t be the point of the award. I feel like that cheapens the award (which is already cheapened by the fact that black women don’t get awarded it IMHO). Her success outside of the actual standard album shouldn’t have been an influence.
midnights has two good songs, which is more than some of the other nominees and less than some of the other nominees
I'm a big Taylor fan, but thought Midnights was pretty boring. Midnight Rain is really the only thing I ever went back to. I was really hoping for Janelle to take it, but was expecting SZA.
I think Olivia Rodrigo should have won something tonight, GUTS was great. Also I like Miley but didn’t care much at all for that album
