A few days ago I saw a kid and his dad wearing Pennywise hoodies at a Mexican Restaurant and I just heard “Yesterdays” on an episode of One Tree Hill. I took it as a sign to see what these guys are up to and there wasn’t a thread! They’re due for a new album!
The album with Zoli was great, but will be ignored by the band. The last album was their best Jim album in a long time. High hopes for new material. I will always have a soft spot for them since they are the band that got me into punk rock back in '92.
Yeah, their last album holds up really well. I loved the Zoli album too. They should be proud of that one. I’m a huge a Straight Ahead and From The Ashes fan.
I listen to About Time all the time I listen to Wildcard/A Word From The Wise 2nd most… I love Straight Ahead but the production is kinda sus
Full Circle is my favourite of theirs. Seen them play a bunch of times seeing as they come to Australia pretty much every year. They always play tight, and sound just like their albums. I remember when Jim came back there was a KROQ interview with him and Fletcher talking about how they reconnected and new boundaries within the band. Was a good interview. A new album would be good, hopefully in the next few years.
my fav pennywise albums would be full circle land of the free? the fuse never gonna die straight ahead those are my top 5!
Man, the production does suck on Straight Ahead. The kick drum is like a clicking noise. It has great songs, though.
i watched the fat wreck documentary and they would add a dollar coin to the kick pad to get that noise, i found that interesting since im a drummer, not sure who produced straight ahead but it could be that!
I got on stage during Bro Hymn once and afterwards went to grab the setlist from Byron's riser. He yelled at me "Don't!" very angrily. He wasn't happy. Otherwise, great gig.
Straight Ahead coming out on the same day as Enema of the State is a thing I forgot about. Happy 26th!
Holy hell. I never realized that. For some reason I thought it was released in 95 haha. My favorite Pennywise album btw.
About Time is one of the best in the genre. Still sounds fresh and awesome to me. It is somehow ... 30??????
