It really does seem like a baffling choice not having Timberlake host, everyone I'm seeing discussing it online is talking about what they might do with him next week as if Dakota Johnson won't even be there

 

It's clearly just an attempt to soft re-launch him without putting too much pressure.

 

New song sounds pretty plain compared to future sex -> 24 experience.

 

It’s giving when they included Alec Baldwin in the Chalamet episode. A quiet soft launch. I imagine this is just them testing the waters, although all his buddies are no longer working at SNL (not that they can’t come back though).
