ATREYU Announces 'The Beautiful Dark Of Life' Album; 'The Moment You Find Your Flame' EP Due In August I noticed no threads for this band exist, which means I'm probably making a huge mistake right now, but I didn't want to post this in the Metal Thread and perpetuate that lie. Anyway, this follows on from the Hope Of A Spark EP they put out earlier this year and another EP, The Moment You Find Your Flame, that comes out in August. They don't say this exactly, but I assume the plan is for the album to encompass the EPs with some added tracks rather than be a separate thing.
Suicide Notes -> The Curse -> A Death-Grip was a great run. I actually liked Lead Sails Paper Anchor too, but I fell off after that.
I can see why people soured on Lead Sails, but I feel like their output after that album is not really that different from their output prior. More polished probably. I dunno.
I actually got into them with Lead Sails, I think that's still a fun rock album. Prior three albums are better with my favorite being The Curse but still, I didn't hate with what they did on Lead Sails. Last album I listened from them was Long Live which was fun enough, I heard they kinda went back to a more buttrock-y direction in more recent years but I dunno for sure
I remember being massively into Lead Sails Paper Anchor when it came out during my college years. I haven't listened to them for years though.
Going on tour with Godsmack, apparently, as is I Prevail. GODSMACK Announces September/October 2023 North American Tour With ATREYU And I PREVAIL
this is a nice interview with them about their new EPs and upcoming full length! Atreyu break down their new EP, The Moment You Find Your Flame (altpress.com) new EP is out today as well - The Moment You Find Your Flame by Atreyu and a new music video for 'Immortal'
I don't know about you guys, but I just love this era of Atreyu. Yeah I listened back in the Death-Grip/Lead Sails days, but Baptize and onwards have just been flawless in my book. Massive songs for the car or working out. Newest EP is great, can't wait for the album and seeing them live for the first time in December.
they still kill it live with their current line up! i caught them last summer and they were fantastic! played a pop up show in the suburbs by me and were surprised and how packed it was, i was like, you guys are atreyu!!! \m/
I'm sure purists are pissed that Alex is gone, but Brandon to me is the heart and soul of the band and it makes total sense he's the frontman since he has a great voice.
December 8th. 1. Drowning 2. Insomnia 3. Capital F 4. God/Devil 5. Watch Me Burn 6. Good Enough 7. Dancing With My Demons 8. Gone 9. I Don't Wanna Die 10. Immortal 11. (i) 12. Death or Glory (feat. Sierra Deaton) 13. Forevermore 14. Come Down 15. The Beautiful Dark of Life
Im gonna listen to these singles and let yall know what i think. Atreyu was one of my favorite bands back in the day, death grip is my favorite album, fell off after lead sails. Ill report back.
Gone - pretty generic. No desire to come back but not offensively bad or anything. Drowning - Pretty good! Could've fit on Lead Sails God/Devil - is this like a, letlive. tribute or something? it's unique, I'll give it that. Capital F - I dont think this is for me... alright aside from cringe lyrics its not too bad. Whos doing backup vocals? the bass player? i know he snuck in some screams on older releases. Watch me burn - Kind of in that Gone territory, its not bad but not good to me either. If you had told me that Brandon took over the vast majority of the vocal duties back in the day i wouldve been stoked, he was the reason i liked them so much, but i think the variation provided between him and alex really highlighted how good of a singer/hook writer he was, and that just doesnt really come through on these songs for me.
i dont even know what that meant, haha EDIT: scrolled up in the thread, this isn't that. I define that as like, buckcherry and theory of a deadman.
I was trying to use the search function to find some Baptize conversations…but came across this instead
