Skrillex’s long awaited album, QUEST FOR FIRE… the first of two dropping this year… releasing this Friday, February 17th.
I loved Bangarang. Recess was good too. I don't listen to his hip-hop collab stuff much, so hoping its light on that front. More of a fan of the vocal loop/sample/instrumental based stuff. Either way. Ready to hear it.
The track list for this looks great, and Don't Get Too Close is a really cool (and slightly strange in a cool way) I think I am going to listen to my first full Skrillex projects..... Should I do a runthrough of his past material? What is essential if I do? One album and a few EPs with a lot of standalone singles?
From what I've learned, apparently another album containing the PinkPantheress feature and the song below is coming out later this year?
I haven’t listened to much skrillex besides the singles and any collabs but I decided to dive into this one straight up and it’s an enjoyable listen. The Fred again song is ELITE.
It's been like, 15 years and I am still so shocked that the Sonny Moore from the FFTL days is one of the biggest electronic artists in the world.
Top three songs after first listen are Rumble, Inhale Exhale and Still Here which make sense since Fred again and porter Robinson are two of my favorite artists in the scene right now. that beat drop in inhale exhale got me stupid hyped since I did my first listen in my car. It’s a good listen. I’m just hyped for that other project now.
rumored track list too CRAZY: don’t get too close (02/18/23) don’t leave me like this with Bobby Raps Way Back with PinkPantheress & Trippie Redd selecta with BEAM ceremony with Yung Lean & Bladee Real Spring with Bladee summertime with Kid Cudi bad for me with Corbin & Chief Keef 3am with Prentiss & Anthony Green Don’t Go with Justin Bieber & Don Toliver Don’t Get Too Close with Bibi Bourelly & Sonny Moore mixed signals with Swae Lee painting rainbows with Bibi Bourelly
All I have to say is BEAM is absolutely killing it with these features lately wow every song he is on is a banger
The difference in vibes between the two albums is awesome. I think I like the Quest in that regards to Don't Get to Close but I like that "darky" tone that Quest has more than the more poppy aspect of the second album.
Not feeling the pop record, these will need to be reworked a bit to fit into a live set, not a ton of variance. Hanging with Four Tet had me excepting something a little less straight forward. The other record is great tho.
