Perhaps this is a mistake. We shall see. Now that we have decided, collectively, that Radiohead's Ok Computer is the GOAT of all time, we shall see the GOAT song. Decade by decade, choosing the top 10, and then the top 4 from the current decade, to make another bracket that will piss everyone off. Let's go. Will leave this up until Sunday, and then tabulate what songs have the most points. My thoughts are 15 points (little boost) for first place, 9 for second, 8 for third, etc. What are your top 10 songs of the 1960s?
im choosing to limit myself to one per artist, simply bc i want to feature more than one artist and want there to be some variety in the final list and not just 10 beatles songs. you don't have to do the same, but that is what i will be doing.
Fortunately, I recently did make a playlist of my favorite song of each year dating back to 1960, so that will at least make this doable.
1. The Beatles - A Day In The Life 2. Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child (Slight Return) 3. The Beach Boys - I Get Around 4. Led Zeppelin - Dazed And Confused 5. The Doors - Light My Fire 6. The Beach Boys - Good Vibrations 7. The Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows 8. The Beatles - Because 9. Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower 10. The Doors - Break On Through (To The Other Side)
I don't know if I could even narrow it down to the top 10 songs each by Dylan, The Stones, The Beatles and The Who from the 60s haha

King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man 7. Booker T. & the M.G.’s – Green Onions 8. Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit 9. MC5 - Kick Out the Jams Pretty sure these are the only songs to come out in the 1960s thanks.
I find song lists a little bit more difficult to construct than album list, and I find that it ends up falling slightly into, "I love that album, what's my favourite song from it" mode, which means I end up forgetting decent albums with one or two killer tracks for the most part. My experience doing these lists in the album threads is that my iTunes organisation and Year tagging was atrocious, so if any of these are off, then my bad. Sticking to the one song per artist and doing 20, just because it seemed quicker to include 20 than try and cut 10. 1. Nina Simone - Sinnerman (1965) 2. Bob Dylan - It's All Over Now, Baby Blue (1965) 3. Van Morrison - Sweet Thing (1968) 4. Sam Cooke - Ain't That Good News (1964) 5. Elvis Presley - Suspicious Minds (1969) 6. Etta James - Anything to Say You're Mine (1961) 7. Howlin' Wolf - The Red Rooster (1962) 8. The Ronettes - Do I Love You? (1964) 9. The Four Tops - I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) (1965) 10. The Beatles - In My Life (1965) 11. The Beach Boys - God Only Knows (1966) 12. Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - The Tracks of My Tears (1965) 13. The Supremes - It's The Same Old Song (1967) 14. Otis Redding - Tennessee Waltz (1967) 15. Richie Havens - High Flying Bird (1967) 16. Aretha Franklin - Think (1968) 17. Marvin Gaye - I Heard it Through the Grapevine (1968) 18. Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues (1968) 19. Dr John - I Walk on Guilded Splinters (1968) 20. Desmond Dekker - 007 Shanty Town (1967)

I was trying to decide between that one and “Do I Move You,” but figured why not give “Don’t You Pay Them No Mind” a shot?
“In the Dark” is certainly in the hunt. But to make myself not want to die creating this list, I just went through the top 250 I made for that other thread and put the 10 highest ranking. Otherwise I’d agonize for days
i forgot im out of town next monday - sunday. i'll close this one out sunday with the top 10 overall but we'll have to wait a week before the 70s.
