Round two is here. 32 winners of the previous round. What album will come out on top? NOTICE: PLEASE DO NOT VOTE UNLESS YOU'VE HEARD BOTH ALBUMS. STOP DOING THIS SHIT. For this matchup, we start with: (2) Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy vs. (31) David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
The best hip hop album left in the bracket. Just a behemoth when it was released. I have similar criticisms with this one that i did for the hype around GKMC, but I think this deserves it (or comes closer). Still, though, going with Ziggy and fuck Kanye forever.
Kanye is super problematic to say the least, but to use that against him while voting for someone who had sex with a 14 year old is a bold take.
That's a separate comment from my justification for picking Bowie. I don't know if there's a "clean" person left in the bracket
He was really mean one time to a crowd!!! In all honesty though let's not get into that dumbass conversation. It's bringing back vibes from that "who's the least problematic" twitter thread. Bring up artists' problematic shit if you find it relevant but we shouldn't get into a pissing contest over what band has done the least bad shit, lol
You were the one who brought it up with your Fuck Kanye forever comment, which at the time wasn't super relevant. I wasn't trying to make it into a contest of who's done worse, I didn't mention it at all in his previous brackets, just going off ofnthe vibe you brought to it.
Kanye gets my vote for Pusha T's verse on Runaway alone. Also can't be like " but bowie played guitar!" Such a cool argument. MBDTF was very much a collaborative and motherfucker, Mike Dean played guitar on Devil in a New Dress. Shoutout to Rick Ross as well for that verse.
Really don't know which way to go here, gonna sit on this one for a while but I'll be happy either way this shakes
why are people talking about the guitar on the kanye album and ignoring Mick Ronson playing some of the best guitar of all time on multiple different songs on Ziggy lol. be serious.
