Round one is here. 62 years of albums with 2 convenient ties. What album will come out on top? NOTICE: PLEASE DO NOT VOTE UNLESS YOU'VE HEARD BOTH ALBUMS. STOP DOING THIS SHIT. For this matchup, we start with: (18) Turnstile - Glow On vs. (47) The Clash - London Calling
gonna guess Turnstile takes this one, and it's a credit to them that this was difficult at all for me, but it has to be the clash for me. not that this always matters/should decide stuff, but it's hard to imagine one of these band's existing without the other
Another classic I need to listen to. Feels insane seeing this album one year after release but it does in fact whip ass
I like the Turnstile record a lot, more than I expected to, honestly. But come on, it's London Calling.
London Calling is so good. Was just listening to the Clash’s Live at Shea Stadium album. Great running album.
This was a really difficult decision, I probably like Turnstile more than The Clash if I’m being honest. But idk how this doesn’t go to London Calling
I don't know why, but full albums just don't do it for me with the Clash. That being said, I think this is easily their best album against really terrible ones (Sandista and Combat Rock are such taxing listens)... But I digress. I genuinely like Glow On better as an album, but yeah London Calling has far more historical weight and influence.
Fun fact: had to check out Glow On for this poll. Had no use for their previous album but this is shockingly awesome. Still not touching London Calling though.
Sorry. Just wasn’t my jam at all. But this one is really cool. Have people asked the bass player if he’s into Rush? Cause there are all kinds of little bass moments that make me think of Geddy Lee in the ‘80s.
Lolll you’re good, just messin with ya. Not everything’s for everybody. I do prefer Time & Space, but Glow On is their break out for good reason!
Clash easily for me. Glow On didn't really do it for me and with the praise it was getting I had high expectations.
Not a song from London Calling, but that first lone drum hit on “Safe European Home” is the loudest sound in rock music.
