Unsurprised to say this is really great. Rides the same wavelength as Crushing but feels like an improvement in many aspects. Excited to dive a little more into the lyrics
This is more subdued than I expected, which is fine. My only issue is with the choice of acoustic guitar on the sparser tracks - it just doesn’t sound good. Lydia and Be Careful with Yourself are my favourite tracks, and I want the latter played at my wedding. Julia remains one of my favourite songwriters and I’m really loving the thematic imagery on this one. Love her interplay between songs about faith and religious teachings, love and youth, and a bit of humour, too. Can’t wait to see her in February!
Can't believe how I would almost miss out on this, today is stacked! Loved her previous efforts, I'm getting right on it! Sound good so far after 3 songs in.
If anyone is selling a ticket to her Chicago show tomorrow, hit me up! Looking to go and slept too long on grabbing a ticket.
