I dont want to pick. It was bound to happen though. So many pros to both, but are there any negatives? To either one?
An interesting thing to look at is its legacy. Jaws created the blockbuster and Jurassic Park revolutionized CGI, and decades later people are still trying to match their legacies. Mercifully, Jaws' sequels ended a long time ago but we keep getting dumber and more extreme Jurassic movies.
Jurassic Park's dominance is a result of the general age of members of this forum. If the people here were mostly middle-aged it is a completely different bracket.
I'm exactly the right age for being all in on Jurassic Park but I still prefer Jaws. And yea the Jurassic World movies have been pretty horrendous, and the latest trailer for the new one looks very bad too. I'll be there on the biggest screen as soon as I can.
I enjoyed the first Jurassic World when I rewatched it a month ago. It’s campy but not unwatchable like Jaws: The Revenge
yeah Jurassic World is as far from a perfect movie as you can get but I have fun every time I watch it. Could not imagine putting myself through Jaws the Revenge voluntarily lol
The shark chases Brody's son through a sunken ship. Michael Caine's helicopter gets eaten. Much more comedy than the corporate sponsorship of Jurassic World.
Man Jaws is so fucking good. Watching it with my film class now. Make a better tournament next time this one was boring.
This was tough, but Jaws is it. I have a lottttt of nostalgia tied to JP, I was a 5/6 year old who loved dinosaurs when it came out, it’s one of, if not the first movie theater experience I can remember, and yes it is a goat movie…but Jaws is just a better film IMO. I grew up watching it with my brother and sisters and family constantly in the summer times. It’s a must watch during the summer for me
