It's got to be Chief Wiggum, his best bits are incredible. Ralph is fun, but Wiggum's complete incompetency is beautiful.

Figures people on this site would prefer the character that exists to ruthlessly mock children with special needs vs the character that is a harsh satire of the police state. Punching down is real cool

On the third hand, the Simpsons is just a silly cartoon, Ralph is an endearing idiot, Wiggum is a bumbling fool and they’re both a lot of fun to watch.

Sorry for being on the right side of history (Simpsons writers) rather than siding with the oppressors (other Simpsons writers)

 

All I know is that I watched some random episode of Treehouse of Horrors and Ralph giggles and says "dying tickles" and that made my middle school self laugh his ass off.

Buut I suppose I can see how he could be offensive now. Never really gave it any thought. I guess I just love dumb characters, hence my affection for Andy Dwyer

yeah, a lot about his characterization at least comes off as him being the “slow” kid played for laughs
