Round of 32 (Old Comedies): Seinfeld vs. Futurama

One's a show about nothing. One is a show set in the year 3000. Which one do you choose?

 

Voted for Futurama simply because the episode focused on Fry's dog left in the past being one of the most moving episodes of TV I've ever watched, but I expect Seinfeld to win this. I'm not in love with either series as a whole, but those early (pre-brought back) Futurama seasons are still fond in my mind.

 

Seinfeld, pretty easily. Do like Futurama a fair bit though.

Futurama is a show that I can put on and always feel some sort of emotion.

 

Seinfeld is a top three all timer. Futurama maybe the GOAT animated comedy but it's Seinfeld all the way.

Also Frys Dog gets all the attention but Frys Brother absolutely crushes me

 

I’m probably alone in this but I have never liked Futurama, like at all

 

I never watched more than the first season or two of Futurama. Seinfeld is the foundation of my sense of humor.

Futurama.

Could never bring myself to enjoy Seinfeld much. All the main characters come off as selfish pricks without any redeeming qualities. I guess that’s intentional, but it makes me not interested in their stories.

 

This one hurt. Seinfeld might be the most rewatchable sitcom ever but Futurama has made me cry real tears before.

ugh I had to go with Seinfeld. Futurama’s Comedy Central years were a step down (aside from some excellent episodes here and there mixed in)

 

The masturbation episode might be the perfect sitcom episode. It is hilarious from setup to finish.

 

My parents and I used to watch Seinfeld every night. I still throw it on pretty regularly.

The characters are often doing shitty things, but it always comes around to bite them on the ass. It's not like they're rewarded for their lying and scheming.
