Do we even need to go through this process this year, or can we just acknowledge that Olivia Rodrigo is going to sweep the Big Four and call it a day?

Not so sure about that. Happier Than Ever, Evermore, and Montero will be strong contenders for AOTY.

I'm not sure either of those is in the same territory in terms of buzz, sales, hits, staying power, or narrative. We're three years straight now with the clear frontrunner walking away with it, and I would expect that to continue. It's a pretty safe bet she wins AOTY. Maybe not as safe a bet as her winning Best New Artist (a guarantee) or Song of the Year, but still.

  5. I’d be pretty surprised if Rodrigo didn’t sweep.

Definitely seeing Olivia getting a nomination in each of the Big 4 categories, but I don't think she'll win them all. For some reason I feel like Leave the Door Open will nab Song of the Year.

Also, despite not being too successful commercially, I think Halsey might get that underdog AOTY nom.

Billie's "Happier Than Ever" (song) will probably nag a few.

I think Leave the Door Open has a better shot against Driver’s License in Record of the Year than Song of the Year. The degree to which Olivia us been positioned as a Capital-S Songwriter is probably going to carry a lot of weight in SOTY.

I'll put $10,000 on Olivia winning Best New Artist and $9,000 on her not sweeping. Someone show me where to do it.

I feel like The Grammys turned into the MTV awards a long time ago. They've just been nominating the biggest mainstream artists for the past 5 or so years.

    hmmm

Hilarious that people take these things seriously. Such self-congratulatory bullshit.

Also, did they take away the entire Rock category?

    MBDTF: not an AOTY nominee.
    Donda: an AOTY nominee.

    Things have changed.

Bieber didn't win best new artist his year. It's ... surprisingly not a sure thing.

No, Billie Eilish presented that category on the livestream.

People don't actually use the Grammys as validation for their art, right? These nominees, as expected, are laughable.

On what planet is Donda one of the top 5 hip hop albums this year? Also, seeing the amount of people that worked on this recent Bieber record...ummm, so what does Bieber actually do on his own? He had 76 writers on the record.

Also, is HER just an awards show favorite? She has some of the best management in the business, she gets high profile gigs all over the place, without ever having a real hit. She's like the new Tori Kelly (who is also somehow nominated for a Grammy lol)....also, HER is super talented, she's just a piece of shit for working with Chris Brown.

Pretty sure we'll never see a Arcade Fire or Beck ever pull an upset in a major category ever again. They've become the American Music Award/Billboard Awards when it comes to the nominees.
