New album "Scaled and Icy" out May 21st along with a livestream event. New single "Shy Away" potentially out this Friday, April 9th.
It could all be a diversion, but the source of the campaign is legit. The photos of Tyler & Josh are new and match the aesthetic, and it came from the "DMA" website that was used to reveal Trench. I think it's them going full force with the concept, which is obviously an extension of the Trench lore (the inclusion of Dema references as well as "Scaled And Icy" being an anagram of "Clancy is dead")
Good Day / Smoker / Shy Away / The Outside / Saturday / Never Take It Apparently this is side a of the record
I don't think Smoker is right but the rest look like what's on the cassette tape. The last one *could* be Never Fake It.
The color scheme has been nagging at me all day long, and I finally figured out why. It's cause it shares the same colors as this classic.
I think it’s fairly well known at this point that Tyler made Blurryface as catchy as it was in order to boost their popularity to that higher echelon of artists, then moving forward he’s only going to make what he wants to make. Blurryface had 4 additional producers, while Trench only had 1, who is a personal friend of Tyler’s that he respects a lot. I recall Tyler having to push the label to allow a song like Neon Gravestones to even be on the Trench track listing. The dude could write hit singles for the rest of his life (or at least for the recent future), and while they’ll always have singles, their deep cuts really make this band shine. So proud of where they’ve come. They put in the work and made their success happen on their terms. I wholeheartedly agree that Trench was fucking great.
Honestly was still not expecting a new album so soon, really pleasantly surprised by this. Also agree that Trench was their best work so far so I'm excited to see how they follow it up
