Didn't see a thread for this yet, and figured I'd create one since production is apparently ramping up.

 

I'm stoked for Kumail, but man, Benny Safdie?! That feels like an out of the box choice.

What the fuck at that cast. Let’s rock

 

It’s definitely going to be interesting to see how they decide to age Ewan and Joel.

 

Took me way too long to realize who Joel was supposed to be playing. Totally forgot his little (big) role there in Revenge.

 

Some pleasant surprises in this cast.

 

I hope they don't just make Kumail the comic relief droid like they've done the last few standalone films.

So do they blow up episode 4 and have darth and obi wan meet in this ?

 

this was my thought when it was announced that Hayden was going to be in this

 

i think it'll be force ghost shit.

 

Flashbacks

 

Most people point to the Vader line "Obi-Wan once thought as you do." when Luke says that there's still good in him, as a reason for letting the two meet one more time between ROTS and ANH. Not sure I think it holds much water, but I'm willing to give it a shot if it isn't flashbacks.

 

Yeah but he could be referring to their interaction on Mustafar there easily too, as Obi Wan thought pretty much up until the final moments that he could still be Anakin.

 

Yeah i mean, theres what, 20 years between III & IV? Theres easily a way they can have Vader and Obi Wan meet in the series and still have enough time pass so that the line in IV still makes total sense.

 

either way, i’m mostly way passed not giving them the benefit of the doubt, episode 9 not withstanding.

Why would they need hayden to be vader though. You could use anyone.

I think there will be flashbacks or maybe visions.

He might and probably will meet vader but I would think we'd get some hayden as well.

 

Could also just be the fact that the memers have turned everyone in the fanbase into loyal Hayden supporters and they just didn't want to deal with the fallout of casting someone else to be Vader.

 

It’s gonna be like some Last Temptation of Christ shit with Ewan in the desert seeing visions of Hayden and Liam Neeson

 

I think we’ll have flashbacks as well as Vader looking for Obi-Wan. There may be some kind of force connection if they want to explore that as well. I feel like Maul and Qui Gon may appear as well, but be the surprise characters.
