I was just talking to my coworker last night about how the ending of the first movie was the first time I was SHOCKED at the ending of a movie.
For some god forsaken reason I’ve had the urge to watch all of these. I got four in over a week or so and gave up halfway through the fifth one. I’m determined to get through the rest this year. I don’t even know why.
I’ve only seen the first two and didn’t waste my time with the rest. The first one is fucking awesome. I’ve seen a lot of negative comments regarding this film/trailer, but honestly, its the most interested I’ve been in this series since the first. Excited to see this
I'm not really sure what to make of it. Seeing this from Rock's perspective is a weird way of going about it. I'm curious to see if we get more of a split between the detectives and the torture more akin to the original series. I skipped the middle few movies, but love this guys breakdown of what I missed.
Eh, like half of the first movie was from the perspective of the Danny Glover character, wasn't it? Not totally a new thing for the series to focus on the investigator.
Pretty much. Every one of the movies was pretty split between the horror traps and a detective procedural except the third one. First had glover, second was Donnie, third nothing(except the opening half hour closing things up on detectives from 2), Rigg in the traps and Strahm’s FBI interrogation in four, Strahm’s vigilante investigation in five, FBI looking for Strahm in six, and Gibson in 7.
My only hope is that in the next movie it is revealed at the end that Chris Rock was secretly jigsaws apprentice the whole time
It turns out Tobin Bell was actually the apprentice the entire time to a Hacksaw Jim Duggan inspired cult
