Downhill (Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, February 14,2020) Movie

The black comedy follows a married couple (Will Ferrell and Julia Louis Dreyfus) on a family vacation in the Alps whose lives are thrown into disarray when they barely escape an avalanche, forcing them to reevaluate how they feel about each other. Succession creator Jesse Armstrong penned the script with Faxon and Rash.

loved the original, and this looks good but also the number of screening emails i got for this + the fact that movies like this (foreign remakes) are so rarely good makes me.. hesitant

I'm into this bc I like mostly everyone involved. Not expecting this to really be anything like the original but that's probably a good thing.

 

Mainly interested because of Faxon, Rash, and Armstrong, but the trailer was just ok.

Not sure if I can see Will Ferrell pulling off the role here? Don’t like the tone of the trailer, more like a family comedy, rather than the more tense undertones of the original

I didn't even realize it came out already

 

I saw this on Thursday, it was okay, but since I watched the original for the first time earlier in the week it had a lot to live up to and couldn’t hold up.
