I wrote her on twitter because I’m genuinely appalled and confused and disgusted

 

there is no excuse for it.

 

I love her but I want her to understand how jarring and honestly triggering that was

I like this except for the inclusion of the Brand New lyrics. If they come to Chicago again next year, it will be my third year in a row seeing them together.

 

Ps I have to say thank you because genuinely if I had listened to that song without a clue it would have been insanely triggering to just stumble across that. I’m really glad I had a heads up.

like as a victim of abuse idk how she wouldn’t understand that hearing his words in a song that you didn’t expect is shitty for victims or well anyone who doesn’t want to hear his words again

 

I don’t know but I saw them retweet stuff of that nature like “oh finally I can listen to these words again” or whatever idk.

Proper. did a similar thing with a song on their recent album, basically using the lyrics as a way to comment on people who still supported Jesse/the band. I can totally see how it might not be the best approach though.

I’m literally so beyond disappointed. I’ve loved her for years and have supported her and this just makes me so confused and grossed out that I don’t even want to do that anymore. She really out here tweeting shit like that but ignoring my tweets begging for her to help me understand
