I just took the one dose. My girlfriend and I had a 120 mg gummy to share, I probably took 70 mg of it. It kicked in surprisingly fast, probably withing the first 45 minutes. It was a good high for about an hour or two but then it slowly turned for the worse.
oof, that sucks. the 70 mg refers to the gummy mass or the THC mass? typically my friends and i when baking shoot for ~15-20 mgs THC per serving for a good dose.
Even 50mg seems daunting to me, but I really have no clue where my edible tolerance is at, since I always eat homemade edibles that I don't know the strength of, and I always eat WAY too much.
Honestly I am set for the time being but I really hope Maryland gets it shit together - would love to be able to buy edibles
I've been on the oil kick for a while. It's pretty bad quality compared to the weed I get but it's so convenient
Nothing beats taking a few puffs of an oil pen right before walking into a movie theater or restaurant
Posting this here too: People, talk to me about terpenes. How much do you know? What would you want to know? The blog post I'm pitching for my internship is basically "The Low-Down on Terpenes." What they are, why you should care, how to really enjoy them, and morning/noon/night suggestions for a drink to go with a smoke, like you would cigars and cognac.
I once had 150mg worth of chocolate right before walking into the airport. Didn't want it to go to waste before I went home. That was a fun flight.
i stopped taking edibles because my tolerance is too high and shit's too expensive now to have to buy several 100 mg doses. that was one of the stupider rules they came up with here. 10 mg per dose with a max of 100 mg per package.
That's insane. I can't believe you have issues with the package ONLY having 100mg. I guess living in a non-legal state/only having edibles on rare occasion, I may have a differing view point, but I've always felt like one package should be one (normal) dose. Like the average person should be able to eat one weed cookie without it knocking them out for 3 days. BUT, like I said, tolerance is totally different for different people. I easily go through an 8th or more of bud a day, but I know quite a few people that make an 8th last for months.
Usually if I'm eating edibles a friend made them so I have no clue about dose. 100mg sounds like...a lot
I realize that the average person is good with 10 mg. That said I also think it's silly to put limits on a beer's ABV but states do that crap too.
what is everyone's favorite bargain bong of decent quality? i've never owned one before so i'm completely unsure what to look for in terms of maintenance, red flags, etc. and i trust you all. any tips?
I guess it depends on what your price range and criteria are. Honestly, if it's a cheaper one (maybe under $100 in a headshop), it's probably gonna have some thin glass. So because of that, I might suggest looking for a straight tube vs a beaker or donut base because it's just that much more glass to accidentally bang into something and shatter. I've only smoked glass though so I cannot speak to ceramic bongs. I would also make sure the piece has a removable downstem and slide to make it easier to clean, as well as easier to replace parts.
yeah, the straight tube looks like it's best anyway for a first one. is $100 an average price for them?? i saw some cheaper ones at a smokeshop and some reeeeally dirt cheap ones at a gas station that were small so i thought maybe easier to maintain
I wouldn't necessarily say it's an average price for them, but I'd say it's around the starting point for higher quality, scientific glass. At least at the ripoff shops where I am heh I haven't had something smaller and cheaper in a long time, but the ones I started off with didn't last more than a couple months, if not weeks. I am fairly clumsy though lol I'm sure others can chime in more with better info than me
honestly it's taken me owning many bongs to realize what I like in a bong. Everyone has different priorities so just try and think about yours. what @RyanPm40 said was a good place to start and I have my own input as well. I personally much prefer to use ice in my bongs. Keep this in mind as far as how big the mouthpiece part is. I've bought bongs and been like damn I wasn't even looking at that part, and it's too small for ice. Also keep in mind how big the base area is. The same bong mentioned above has a large base piece...it's like a large beaker basically. if you need reference I can post a picture haha but anyway because the bottom part is so big, it really fills up and is hard to clear. which results in stale smoke etc. another thing to think about is to make sure the downstem is removable for cleaning and pay attention to the size of the opening of the downstem. like how big the stem is? because if you have to replace the bowl/stem piece, but your bong is a random size, it is difficult or impossible to replace, which sucks cause then the whole thing is just useless. Percolators make it harder to clean, but are a better hit IMO silicone bongs are actually pretty tight, if you can find one of those. They are pretty cheap and the ones around here all glow in the dark lol but they have an ice catch and are obviously soft so they are kinda perfect. my bf actually had one and left it at someones house and I'm still salty because I really liked that bong and I miss it lol okay I think that's everything. honestly, I get so excited/caught up in smoke shops that all of this info goes right out the window so I should refer back to my own advice next time I'm about to buy another piece lol
