Did you all go too hard yesterday? I decided a nice 420 gift to Triton would be the day off and a nice bath. He's my ride or die piece; we've been together 13 years. Before & after his soak Cant wait to dirty him back up
Who has a dry flower vape they can recommend? Is the Pax 3 worth it? I’m trying to smoke less, especially with all this bullshit we are currently going through.
I like the Pax 3. Bluetooth tenp control is neat. But would only recommend it for dry herb. The concentrate oven it comes with is kind of a mess.
If you're ok without going portable, Da Buddha works great and is pretty affordable compared to competition My Pax 2 was garbage imo, it was so hard to get a good hit, the screen was annoying to adjust, and you have to constantly clean and stir it. Not sure if Pax 3 fixed that?
I recently got the Arizer Solo 2. Cheaper than PAX but high quality IMO. Temperature controlled, glass tube for smoother hits, lots of different settings for volume, preheat time, etc. Slow burn and smaller packing area, but you get a lot out of a little, so it's good for conserving. Really loving it.
I've had both a Pax 2 and Da Buddha. I'd very much recommend Da Buddha. The Pax is okay, but only if you're really needing it for on the go/stealth. If you're using it at home, Da Buddha is WAY better, imo.
I bought the xVape Fog a couple of months ago and would highly recommend it. Take it with a pinch of salt since I have no other vape experience, but yeah. £60. Rechargeable via USB. Get about 40 minutes to s charge apparently, but it's enough for at least a couple of bowls for me, and I leave it charging on my PS4 while listening to music most of the time anyway. Gets me nice and toasty straight away. Only use it for dry flower mind so not sure if you're using concentrate or whatever.
Treated myself to an ounce for the holiday. Bongs all day woo Also I've been big into woodturning videos on youtube lately. Like check this shit out
That light is so cool! I want it. I love when colored pencils are used, and then the colored pencil doughnut video, which I hadn't seen yet, came on after this one. It's so satisfying. There's a great one with colored pencils. The guy makes an awesome resin wave sculpture with them, and then he drops it!
Ok I’m admittedly a moron when it comes to baking/edibles so maybe someone can answer this for me I just saw someone posting about putting kief in coffee. Just straight into the coffee lol They said “you don’t need to bake it to de carb it or anything, the heat in the coffee does that for you” and listen I don’t understand decarbing like I’m very ignorant on that but how would “the heat from the coffee” be any different than say “the heat from baking the brownies” but people still say you must de carb before you bake? but also people say make fire crackers and there’s no decarbing there??? I think I’m just thoroughly confused
I’ve also been curious about that/intimidated by the whole de-carbing thing and would love to be educated on it
So, I'm not an expert or anything, and I've had the same questions, but here's my take... You don't HAVE to decarb first, when you're cooking brownies, putting keif in hot coffee, baking firecrackers, etc... because there is heat involved, BUT you might not be fully decarbing it that way and you'd be leaving "unactivated" THC behind. I've made edibles both ways, and have found that decarbing first (as long as you don't completely just burn your bud) has been more effective. I usually just grind some weed up, wrap it in foil and throw it in the oven/toaster oven for 30-45minutes at like 220ish and then it's decarbed. At that point, you can basically just eat it straight or cook it into oil/butter or whatever.
^ that, I've understood decarbing to be a matter of thoroughness more than absolute necessity, but I always end up wishing that I had when I skip it, even for firecrackers :/
Basically this. More than likely it will leave the majority of cannabinoids inactive and essentially wasting a large amount of your kief. Also decarbing controls the reaction by maintaining a specific heat range. Coffee could be super hot initially and blast your thca into cbn leaving you groggy and sedated and wasting the rest because it cooled down rapidly. Still a pretty easy way to catch a buzz I guess
Speaking of edibles, has anyone checked out that new Cooked With Cannabis show on Netflix?? It's ok so far. Wish they spent more time on the celebrity judges who are actually getting stoned off this stuff haha otherwise it's just a regular cooking competition. But maybe that's the point, to just take away the stigma from a more reserved audience
The only time I myself was involved in the baking of brownies We put the weed in a (new but still, don’t do this Lmaoo) panty hose in a pot of butter and basically boiled it for quite a while. It was super green after. Squeeze the hose and then used the butter for brownies I have no idea if that is a good way to do it but it was fun and we just passed out which is what often happens to me from homemade edibles so Also that was like exactly 10 years ago on 420 lol
Can you expound on this any more? aside from the strain itself, can cooking it differently, have different effects on the way it hits you? Could you purposely use higher/lower temperature, cook for different lengths of time, infuse into different substances, to control the type of high you get?
I had the first episode on the other day while I was working. It was fine, but didn't really grab me. I'll probably watch the rest of it like that, in the background, but if I'm gonna sit down and give a show/movie my full attention, I'd probably watch something else.
This is basically my method, except I decarb first, I add water in with the butter so it doesn't get too hot, and I just mix everything all together/don't seperate it with a pantyhose, but instead run it through cheesecloth afterwards to strain out the plant material.
