That just reminded me, when I was in Montreal, my girlfriend and I were smoking on a park bench, and a mother walks by us with her 20-something year old son, all prim and proper, and politely asks us what we're smoking, asks about the laws, which she was shocked by, and then asked where the nearest dispensary is lol. It was so unexpected and kind of adorable
My friend started as a trimmer in a CO dispensary about 3 years ago and is now like a marketing manager type position. Doesn't work with plants anymore but gets to see upcoming advancements and makes like 80K-100K prolly if I were to guess. All within 3 years.
I texted my plug three days ago and he hasn’t gotten back to me. Bout to buy a $200 quad at the dispensary lol
I’m guessing because I haven’t been yet but yeah it’s around that. Combination of Illinois rec being 8 days old, plus the insane taxes the state has decided to levy. The THC tax (tax based on THC%) seems insane to me, I’m hoping it is eventually repealed. I guess taxes being high is actually good for Illinois because the state is broke as fuck. But at some point they have to meet the illegal weed sellers halfway. also theres like a 50% chance I’m moving to Washington or Oregon in the next 2 years so by the time Illinois prices go down it won’t matter for me. Lol
Damn, I’m trying a new place in DC tomorrow and it’s $225 for like 7g of different concentrates... wax, shatter, budder, crumble, and a couple carts I think
If anyone feels like moving to a legal state let me know lol. It's apparently impossible to move out of the midwest without a roommate.
Yeah idk what to expect with extracts, but when I was in Colorado, I bought a mix-and-matched half ounce of 3 different strains for maybe $120-140? Definitely a steep tax there in IL
well I’m definitely moving to Seattle in about 9 months. I *think* I have a room to land in out there but it would be short term and I would want to get a place with roommate(s?) shortly after
Seattle would be nice. I have a friend in Tacoma who I've discussed moving in with and planned to move to Denver with him in 2015 before everything hit the fan but his SO is adamantly against roommates lol plus Washington doesn't require a license to work there!
My sister lives in Tacoma so I’ve been looking to get out there but Washington state is so expensive. For me Portland would be a cool intermediate stop because it’s a lot cheaper (comparable to Chicago prices) than Seattle. No state income tax would be pretty cool though, especially since Illinois tax is so high in general.
Washington Dabbers club, their cart I tried yesterday was miles better than what I’ve been getting... haven’t tried the wax yet finding decent bud in dc is kind of wild lol
