Filter News seems to be some Russian music site. https://vk.com/filter_rock Presumably Chad leaked the info to Putin as a favor.
Try this tracklist next time you're in an Uplifter mood lol 1. Hey You 2. It's Alright 3. Golden Sunlight 4. Week Of Saturdays 5. I Like The Way 6. Daisy Cutter 7. Too Much Too Fast 8. Never Ending Summer 9. Two Drops In The Ocean 10. Sun Come Through 11. Get Down 12. Jackpot 13. My Heart Sings 14. Simplify
Simplify would be a 10/10 song if it didn't have that "this moment is a gift, that's why it's called the present" line.
LOL- I feel like we could write a book of corny Nick lyrics , I find it endearing and just don’t even think about it much haha
Love when these leaks happen and the band Reddit is filled with nonbelievers ("There’s no ring around the logo, clearly fake" "A song called Friend and Persimmon, they would never") but this one is especially precious because for a hot second they thought the leak originated with me and I'm just tickled by that premise.
I think there are a few people involved, but it might also depend on which songs end up making the album. Colin Brittain did a few tracks (the first two singles), I believe Scott (Scotch) Ralston did most of the rest again. I thought I remembered mentions of the involvement of Ron Saint Germain (who produced Blue, From Chaos, Evolver, DTOM) on a song or two. Don’t quote me on that though, that might just be mixing.
New song is out there in other time zones. It's a lot of fun. Upbeat and groovy but still heavy - the best kind of 311 lol.
The new 311 song Need Somebody is out in the UK and it's really good on first listen and their new album is confirmed to be called Full Bloom!!
Nah not at all!! I am glad your sources came through and happy we r getting an new 311 album this year :D
Loving this one on first two listens. Two me is has the mix of From Chaos and Soundsystem influence, but also sounds like it could slot on Stereolithic. Really hoping they play this one at Oceans Calling festival next weekend! Will be my 2nd time seeing them this year - festival set or not, it's always a great time at a 311 show.
Related question, asking for a friend... Is a 311 cruise where 311 plays 3 sets on 3 different days considered 3 concerts, or 1? And the Pow Wow festival where they played 2 long sets on 2 separate days considered 2, or 1? Still trying to tally how many times I've seen them .... I know it's not nearly as many as some , but still
I vaguely get this vibe too, I think it's because both of those albums had this sort of groove behind heavier songs (Sever, Mindspin, Wake Your Mind Up, Sick Tight). I also think Nick is singing in a range that really works for him which is a feature of those two albums as well. It is a little happier and upbeat though which I really like.
