Did some digging and found this haha... looks like the original tweet was deleted, but there's still a bunch of replies to it on Twitter so it's legit.

The whole thing with this new single is strange. Back in July that radio Tweet said that he played it for them (I believe it) but when I saw them two weeks ago he said it wasn't done yet. He's crazy like that though, he said "I'm never finished with anything until they pry it from hands. The labels that is." I wonder what tomorrows announcement is? I feel like it may be an announcement of a release date of the single, possibly album and tour dates? I bet they'll debut the single soon-ish since they are doing the MTV Video Music Awards in two weeks.

 

Good digging! I was going to say I remember Jared posting literally last week he was finishing up the single. It seems what they heard might have been unfinished? Either that or you're right TMS! To be honest as a designer myself I am never fully happy with my own work. It's definitely what a lot of artists go through.

All this is getting my hyped up for tomorrow!

 

They were still recording some crowd chants to add to the song in mid July. I've seen many vids on youtube and on Setlist.fm for the toronto date for example on the 18th it even lists it in the setlist. Also after watching more stuff on youtube I didnt know that the new album will basicly act as the soundtrack for A Day in the life of America.

 

I didn't know that either till I watched this video this morning:

 

I'm hoping the songs still hold up well on their own.

 

I definitely think they may have just been putting finishing touches on it when Jared played it at the radio convention.

Apart from a couple of swaps the set list was the same as the night before and also no Walk On Water. A bit disappointing. If I was there I'd want at least more deep cuts? Although I am glad to see From Yesterday is getting some love again.

Yeah they def should play more deep cuts from the 1st and 2nd album. Bummer that they didnt play Walk on Water. Still at least we are getting some sort of news today so thats something and something is better than nothing at all.

 

If they don't touch the first album st Camp Mars I say there's a good chance they never will again.

 

It's a shame they don't embrace it the self titled album has some solid songs on there!
