"Hi this is Tracy's cell phone, Dotcom hold the steering wheel for me I'm trying to leave my out going message Bang! What'd we just hit? Was that a person? Is that paint or blood? Dotcom this did not happen! We take this to our graaaaaaaves Beeeeeeeeep!"
The "Queen of Jordan" episode is amazing. Jenna: "Is this...an intervention!?" Pete: "We all agree it's gone too far. Kenneth, Richard Esposito, your two psychics..." Psychic: "Wait, you're seeing another psychic!? I mean, I knew that."
I need to rewatch this. Weirdly I didn't enjoy this nearly as much as others seemed to on my first go around even though its right up my alley in terms of comedy.
The Tracy/Jenna plotline in "Flu Shot" is absolutely flawless. Liz: I get it. You went shopping. I don't need a montage. Tracy: Yeah, I tried on a lot of outfits. Jenna: And some of them, I was like - 'no.' But then some of them, I was like - 'yeah!'
I'm starting a re-watch now and I'm on episode 5 (I think) and I dug this thread up just to say how the hell did they ever get away with using the word "***-o-tron"? This is genuinely blowing my mind.
Much more acceptable in 2006 unfortunately. I don't remember the context of this show using it though I feel like you're still actually allowed to say that on TV but most shows don't
Colleen is hands down the best recurring character on this show. From the S1 finale: Phoebe: I always thought it'd be lovely to get married in the Spring, just as the petunias start to bloom. Colleen: Sorry Phoebe, what? Phoebe: [louder] I always wanted to marry in the Spring, just as the petunias bloom. Colleen: Just when the... what? Phoebe: [to Jack] Oh dear, is she hard of hearing? Colleen: No, no, no, no. I can hear you - just wanted to make sure you could hear you.
I happened to catch the beginning of The Hangover on TBS earlier today and I totally forgot that Bradley Cooper yells out "Paging Dr. ******" when they reach Ed Helms' house. In the TV airing they censor it and it's changed to "Paging Dr. Nancy." The sad part is I'm sure I laughed at that when I saw it in the theaters seven years ago.
I think Jenna might be my favourite character on this show. I can't imagine anyone playing her as well as Jane does, and I try imagining it alarmingly often. Maybe Anna Camp (who should've got a way longer arc on Kimmy Schmidt, just as an aside). But everyone else would be abject, hideous garbage.
