I have a Letterboxd tag specifically for movies I've seen alone in a theater, it's kind of awesome. Once I saw Dear Evan Hansen in an IMAX theater all by myself and it was hilarious.
saw star trek 2009 totally by myself in summer 2024 die my love and the springsteen movie last year was maybe like me and 2 other people tops
Yeah I haven’t been in an empty theater since Paranorman, but I do try to avoid even semi-crowded theaters because otherwise I mask and don’t get to eat popcorn, which is a bummer
There was one other guy when I went to see the Wrestler and he started talking to me about real wrestling for about ten minutes and I don't really know enough about wrestling to pretend to be able to carry that topic.
It's not tho??? (I'm half joking) Ew I only wear one, is that not enough??? Also yeah for AMC showtimes the week basically starts on Thursday.
david's the covid expert i'm just trying to comfort him with the double mask situation i did double mask during my first trip back to the theater in 2021 for Minari (after the first vaccine dose)
There was a wrestling game on the Nintendo 64 that we used to play all the time that was so fun. I thought Sting was so cool. I still have a Sting doll in my bed.
But yeah it's a covid thing haha. When I saw Years I think I went to a showtime that was late on a summer weekday and there was like 3 other people in the theater. Harder to do that in winter because I have work the next day, so weekend viewings are my only shot, and obviously much harder to find empty or sparsely populated theaters for that
Hmmm good to know. I was confused because they have some times and movies listed already, but not Bone Temple and some others I thought were missing too.
Yeah they’ll have new releases and sure fire hits early but anything else they’re still determining number of showtimes
yep, it was a wild time 6-8 weeks for marvel stuff seems pretty normal these days but for a lot of new releases i feel it's 2/3 weeks or less
I saw Keeper by myself back in like November, but that's because it was an 8:30am showing. For better or worse, movies are not typically busy around here unless it's a large release. I can usually get an area to myself where I feel comfortable not masking, even if it's the very back of the front section (which I don't mind). Helps that I typically just throw a doctor's appt on the calendar and leave a little early to catch a daytime showing before folks are out of work.
