That ending was super goofballs. But I dug it. Boyle is the king of needlessly doing too much (we really doing the bullet time angle change thing again?) But I enjoyed this a lot. The bone temple was more touching than I expected.

The angle change was absolutely too much but it ruled. Some absolutely gorgeous shots in this.

Thought this was too silly at times, especially the ending.

    Some really good shots though

I know they basically ignore all of “Weeks,” but wasn’t some of the footage they show when they have the montage of soldiers training from when the snipers were picking off people in “Weeks”?

This was really weird and I think I liked it? Not as much as the first, and the 2nd one was close enough in style to the first that I liked that one too. This felt like a totally different movie in almost every way. Which makes sense since it’s 20 years since the first lol.

    I loved this

Jack O'Connell is 100% Jimmy from the opening scene and his crew is modeled after the Teletubbies. Off the wall ending but I'm very in for the sequel in January.

I’m sorry but that ending, as abrupt as it was, fucking ruled lmao. Movie slightly lost me at times but overall I really loved it. Weird, intense, funny.

This has to set the record for number of swinging hogs in a mainstream movie.

they literally show him holding the cross in his hand. i don’t think that was meant to be ambiguous.

I still don’t know how I feel about the pregnancy scene or the multiple dei ex machina but if I just look at the whole thing strictly as a sort of fucked up coming of age story/parable I am way more forgiving of some of the stuff that didn’t quite work for me. But either way, yeah, I kinda can’t believe how much I loved this.

A somewhat minor complaint for me is I tend to hate the zombies evolved trope in this genre. It almost always ruins/makes the story dumber for me, I’m a zombie purist I guess. And yeah yeah not real zombies etc. but at least they didn’t seem to dwell on it too much/they just seemed only slightly smarter than the regular ones, just much bigger and stronger

Probably the strangest/weirdest film I’ve ever seen, haha; don’t really know what to make of it. That ending, hahahaha

I think the word “zombie” was said by the Swede dude very briefly on the train

The musical score was very strange, along with the non-song music, none of which ever truly matched the vibe of what I was seeing on screen (imo). Camera angles strange (Boyle specialty I know), low quality and then high quality shots, immediately back to back. And that ending, haha (very curious where this goes in the next film).
