Wasn’t the virus already in France?

I think that was just riots; I think the ending of Weeks suggests the primary vector for the virus making it to mainland Europe/escaping Britain was that kid.

Yeah, and it's name is Bayrou

  4. Quick search looks like it will simultaneously not acknowledge Weeks while also not breaking chronology with it.

Yessss you’re right. I forgot there’s a cut to “28 days later” before they show the helicopter

The first film established that the zombies were starving to death so it probably is best to not focus too much on the lore.

Also like, the zombie dad in the subway entrance area knocks down the woman and then has the intelligence to pick up the gun and pounds it into her face. Just gotta roll with the nonsense of the story, haha

“Skipping over the events of Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s 2007 sequel, 28 Weeks Later, Garland’s script starts with an amusing dig at British isolationism, noting that the virus was driven back from continental Europe to be contained on the U.K. mainland.”

The original ending of 28 Days Later was better.

Watched “Days” and “Weeks” back to back. I still think the Army stuff in “Days” kind of stinks, but everything else is very strong. “Weeks” has some decent ideas and some really well-executed scenes, but I agree that it being so relentlessly bleak gets exhausting. They really made sure that mom ate shit in every scene, even after she was dead.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

oh man I genuinely think the army stuff in Days is scarier than the zombies by far. Eccleston’s performance is terrifying

The Army part is really bad. 28 Days Later and Sunshine are impressive Boyle films until Garland's awful third-act twists.

Sunshine was an amazing film until the part they meet the crazy dude and the film turns into mush

Seeing this tonight. Haven’t seen Days or Weeks in like 15+ years though.

  25. Sunshine definitely just turns into Event Horizon, but Event Horizon rules, so I'm not mad about it

I feel like that third act in 28 Days Later is bleaker than anything in Weeks and also very scary and fitting for the film. Wouldn't change a thing
