28 Years Later looks like Citizen Kane next to that movie.

Rewatching this for the first time and definitely missed this on my first watch: when they go to the mainland for the first time, the body that they find hung upside down in the house clearly has “Jimmy” cared into the torso…you only see the “mmy” clearly, the I is half covered, and you can’t see the J, which based on spacing looks like it would be where the dudes dick is.

When I saw it in theaters I didn’t really look at the carvings on the guys skin, or at least didn’t register the “Jimmy” connection at the time

  12. I think this is my favorite film of the year. Weapons was more immediate, even more consistent, but this film just really stuck with me emotionally and I think I love that it takes big swings even if they don't always land.

I avoided all details about this movie aside from the obvious fact that it was a sequel to the Cillian Murphy / Danny Boyle fast zombie movie shot on video that I saw once when it first came out over 20 years ago, and I knew Ralph Fiennes was gonna be in this too.

This movie was fucking incredible. What a wild ride, and surprisingly emotionally affecting too.

I'm looking back over the thread now and seeing lots of talk about the nudity, but I thought it was pretty obvious they had to do prosthetics because of the young actor.

Next up is The Bone Temple.
