One more year until the Winter Olympics start. 2/6/26. Figured I would make an early thread.

This Olympics is unique in that it will take place across northern Italy and not be confined to just one metro area. There will be 4 Olympic villages with events split between the Milan, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Valtellina, and Val di Fiemme clusters. Opening ceremony will be in Milan, closing ceremony will be in Verona.

Ski Mountaineering will make it's debut as an Olympic Sport at these games. This will be the first Olympics since 2014 where NHL players will be allowed to compete for their home countries in Ice Hockey events.

Verona is such a perfect city to visit.

I guess the 2025 US Curling Championships just ended a few days ago. Team Shuster didn't even place in the final 3.

The US Curling Olympic Trials are later this year, but high likelyhood right now this will be the first US Men's Curling team not captained by John Shuster in over 15 years. We might be getting a brand new Olympics curling squad with fresh blood.

That's Matt Hamilton, also on Team Shuster. Also probably not gonna be at Milan 2026 unless they make an insane comeback at the US Olympic Curling trials.
