Ehhh I never saw him as the top pick. High pick for sure. But most everything I saw was arch (honestly more laughable than Cade considering how obvious him coming back was) and Nussmeier, which definitely could have been plausible had he not been injured and playing through it the entire season
As someone who only watched his Texas game, it was the Texas game Any other game and it's like "oh wtf is wrong with this guy" but that game made him look like he could be a star. I got very attached to him watching that game and then saw how quickly he showed he was not that guy later
“We’re not going to receive immediate impact no matter who we pick, so we should best set ourselves up for the future” is more the logic I think
Oh yeah Josh Hoover is a good one I was asking more about the latter than the former, since “transfer QB taking off at a bigger school” seems to be a common archetype now. Agree that Arch/Dante seem inevitable at the top [although the track record of draft eligible guys who stayed back and were “supposed to” take a step forward at their current school is pretty dreadful so I think there’s more downside risk with both than people give credit for]
If Puka makes another dumb comment or has something else come up, they’re then relying on a 33 year old WR who already missed time last year with a hamstring as a top target for a team trying to go all in for a SB. I feel like Lemon could have had an immediate impact for them haha, and still could be a good pick for the “future” too
I don’t disagree, I just think people are being dense acting like the Rams picking a QB makes ZERO sense. We’ve seen the Packers be relevant for decades using this model lol
On top of the rumors that the teams were the only team with a 1st on him and his the son of Sneads best friend
Cardinals were rumored to trade back into the first for him, just not where LA got him. I don’t think LA was the only team.
Apparently they were very reluctant too and didnt think he was that much better than Beck. The last part sounds like cope but I believe the first part.
Especially since theyre reportedly working on a 2 year extension for Stafford. The difference between Ty and Nuss is nowhere near 6 rounds. Get a guy later or next year. They could've had a top 3 WR or EDGE rusher
It is a funny thing where it seems like shanahan is well respected as kind of a football genius and one of the best coaches in the league but every quote he gives sounds incredibly stupid
Hes like Belichick at this point. Has an elite eye for what to do with talent but a horrendous eye for said talent
Colts draft vid makes it sounds like we were between CJ Allen and a safety (presumably McNeil-Warren?) with the 2
