It looks insane but apparently the rules, as written, allow the runner to run wherever they want and the fielder has to make a sincere effort to tag them before it’s considered running out of the baselines. The Orioles fielder did a little feigned tag attempt so he could still get the out at first when, as dumb as it sounds, he would have had to have sacrificed making the out at first to chase after the runner to get the lead runner called out for his insane route.
Redsox Yankees were supposed to be on fox saturday so I could watch a game (or at least an inning, until they start losing) The rain wouldnt allow me the pain, as it was postponed. Thats probably the only game I could watch since everything else may be on NESN. They lost yesterday though.
