im gonna order one of the fake badges from Does it Doom because the EHX one is the worst part of the amp lol
the sovtek is just all mids all day and great for that. the PRS is more versatile. ill probably use the EHX for all dirty stuff and the PRS for all clean stuff.
for those who don't know, the smaller amp i posted is the american reissue of this amp, which was made in russia during the 80s as basically a marshall style amp but it has way more mids and low end. they were also super cheap bc russian components so they kinda became cult classics. ehx bought the russian company like over a decade ago and started reissuuing some of their stuff (the russian sovtek big muff fuzz is a common fuzz from the same era than ehx puts out too)l. they finally reissued this amp in like 2021 or 2022. but yeah lol these badges look way better than the ehx ones.
idk about australia but you can find them used here for like $400! the knobs and switches are a little plasticky so i have plans down the road to replace the pots with higher grade stuff but even all that work will maybe be an extra $100
there are also mods to cascade the gains together into one channel with more gain and clipping options ("dookie" mod that green day did on their marshalls) but that might be a bit above my electrical paygrade lol
