2025 NFL Mock Draft 1.0 - Congrats, Refs! • Page 5

  1. You got Saints too

  2. Carolina Panthers select Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Graham, Carter, and Walker are my top options for this pick, but they’re all taken. I think this draft is deep enough at DL to now pivot to Will Johnson. The Panthers need help all over the defense. A pairing of Horn and Johnson would be an elite duo. I’m not too concerned about his toe injury. And I think we’ll sign an edge rusher and/or DT in free agency anyways.

I feel like teams like the Panthers and the Patriots where you need so much help on one side of the ball, I’m more supportive of you adding to the area you’re strongest in, than drafting into a different section of all other things are equal.

Better to be really good at something than just mediocre at everything.

The Saints are a mess. Picking the best OL is the draft is never a bad move.

  6. I agree with this to an extent. BPA on defensive side of the ball is the way to go when you gave up more points than any team in league history lol

Sure that’s what I meant when I said if all things are equal.

If you have the CB and the DL graded equally, I’d go the CB to pair with Horn. If the DL is graded higher than I’d have taken him.

    The rivalry is back on

This feels like the start of the part of the draft where Garrett makes most sense if any of Chicago, SF, or ATL want to bite on the price of 1+2+future picks that don’t matter for this or need to be negotiated

They had Caleb running for his goddamn life last year and, considering the skill position depth the team has, he needs help getting them the damn ball. Getting him a hoss to hold it down. Could go edge here or make a risky trade but I'm going OL. So sue me.

49ers select Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

The Niners defense was lackluster last year largely because they couldn't rush the passer with any consistency. While interior DL might arguably be a bigger need, the 49ers have been trying to find a dominant pass rusher to free up Bosa on the other side and they get that here with Williams.

  13. Dallas Cowboys select Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

I know this pick is the most predictable thing ever…but this was actually kinda difficult to decide.

Ultimately, I think they should/will do it if he’s there. They are in a bit of a weird place right now. I don’t think they were bad on the defensive side last year, at least on paper. They had a lot of injuries. But when healthy, looked pretty solid. A few guys will have to be re-signed and they don’t have that much cap space. But the cap is a lie so who knows.

Jeanty is a true blue chipper who will make an immediate impact. Dallas was big time stinky in the run game last year. Combine that with weird OL situation and not a lot of help behind Lamb at WR…not great. I think addressing the offensive side of the ball is the way to go here. Whether it’s OL, WR, or RB. And despite this class being pretty stacked at RB, I think Jeanty is really good value here. And while it might be dumb reasoning, I think Dallas missing out on both Henry and Barkley last offseason will make them be a little more horny be an elite RB.

Terrible pick for my personal vibes. Cowboys don't deserve fun things no matter how perfect a plug and play fit they are.

With the 13th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State.

With the high-end OL and Jeanty off the board, this pick is easy for me.

Warren is excellent at finding soft spots in zone coverage while also being athletic enough to make defenders miss in the open field. Warren is also basically a 6th OL out there as he is already a plus blocker.

Some might ask why the Dolphins would go for a TE when they just had a TE in Jonnu Smith have a career year. Smith and Warren would play different roles in the Miami offense. Miami had nearly 900 snaps last year from Durham Smythe and Julian Hill, who both are dogwater. So there is definitely room for both guys to eat.

Miami's offense needs an identity shift. The "fast small guys everywhere" offense isn't working. Tyreek Hill needs to be shipped out, and they need to start playing some bully ball. What better way then to bring in a 6'6'' 265 lb monster.

  17. If Miami addresses the OL in free agency, Warren is perfect for them

I would prefer the Cowboys and Dolphins in particular do really dumb things. Knock it off guys.

Also if we're expecting Tyreek Hill to be gone, or take another step backwards, they're gonna be surprisingly light on weapons so this def mitigates that.

  20. I was tempted to take Warren for Saints as their Taysom 2.0 but I just couldn’t do it

(He’s way better than Taysom, I know)

yeah, they have to sign at LEAST one starting guard in free agency. Any of Becton, Fries, Hernandez, etc would suffice. They can't afford Trey Smith unfortunately. I don't need studs, just not "Liam Eichenberg" and "Rob Jones" who are maybe the 2 worst starters there in the NFL.

I still at this point would be surprised if Hill was back. I don't see how you recover from what he said and did. I know he and the team have said all the right things, but I really think that is to just keep up appearances.

Trade Hill for (hopefully) a day 2 pick and take a big-bodied WR2 type with that pick. Waddle is not Hill, but he is perfectly capable of being the WR1 in this offense. Malik Washington also looked promising the 2nd half of the season as a slot WR.

Colts select Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M

Warren and Malaki Starks are easily the two most mocked players to IND, but I refuse to believe that Ballard is going to do anything other than build the trenches in some capacity with this pick. Stewart looks like he’ll check off all the athleticism boxes the Colts look for in an edge rusher, IND had a position coach work with Stewart at the Senior Bowl so they’ll have had extra time with him, and if they like what they saw, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him in Indy here
