The Chargers select: J.T. Tuimoloau - EDGE - Ohio State chargers are low on DL talent so pending FA signings, they get a monster here
Carolina Panthers select Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas *Even before this recent run of DL, I was planning on operating as if the Panthers addressed this area in free agency. The DL run helped with that though lol* The Panthers offense started to pick up steam in the last half of the season, thanks to the ascension of Bryce Young. In order to take another step, we really need to add another weapon. Xavier Legette had an overall disappointing rookie season. However, it doesn’t look as grim as our two previous early WR picks (TJ Marshall and Jonathan Mingo). XL showed flashes of what he can bring to the offense, but drops were a problem as the year went on. He was carrying a wrist injury throughout the season and even had surgery on his wrist once the season ended. The hope is that once he’s healthy, those drops decrease and he plays more like the guy we saw at S Car and in the early parts of the season. Outside of XL, we really only have Theilen and Coker. Theilen is severely underrated and I’m very happy to hear he’s returning for another season. However, he is pretty old! Coker emerged as a legit weapon and I expect his role to continue to grow. But this group still isn’t enough. One of the glaring areas this group struggled was YAC. In fact, the Panthers were dead last in YAC. Enter Isaiah Bond. A speed demon, playmaker type WR. I think his stock will go up after the combine because he will post some intriguing numbers. And I think his stats suffered from a lack of targets. But his profile is exactly what the Panthers need. Speed, playmaking, and a legit deep threat.
With the 58th pick the Houston Texans select Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee Nick Caserio has always put alot of stock in Senior Bowl week and he comes away with one of the players that had some of the splashiest reps in Norman-Lott. He will need to improve his run defense but among the top tier interior DL he is one of the best interior pass rushers of this class. A 4 man line of WAJ, Autry, ONL, Hunter should provide plenty of pressure without the need to blitz on key downs.
***TRADE*** The New England Patriots have agreed to send picks #145 and #219 to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Cooper Kupp I think this is a move the real life Patriots need to pursue. Let Kupp say no if it's not what he wants, but man would he be such a gift to Drake Maye. Tee Higgins is probably getting tagged so this seems like the best path to making a real significant upgrade at WR (Sorry Pats fans, Super Bowl champion AJ Brown isn't happening.) Mason Graham Josh Conerly Cooper Kupp and options in the 3rd and 4th round Eliot Wolf can eat me.
I used this as a way to build an offer. I also included taking on the entirety of his contract though that doesn't really matter for our purposes Cooper Kupp trade scenarios: Landing spots and what it could cost to acquire Rams WR I think his age, injuries and contract will lower his price but it's certainly a risk I'd advocate the Patriots taking.
Ravens going OT Cameron Williams from Texas. Considered him earlier in the second and this is a position of need whether Stanley returns or not given his injury history. If Stanley is gone, then Rosengarten slides to left and Williams plugs in at RT.
Deone Walker is good. I almost took him for Pittsburgh. I thought maybe he’d drop a bit since there’s so many DTs.
Commanders take Tez Johnson, WR, Oregon Little fast guy would fit in nicely and give Jayden a nice weapon.
